Vainqueur des deux dernières éditions et détenteur de la coupe d’Europe, Ormesson (avec Jérôme Lando Casanova, Lionel Weber, Clément Bérardo, Jean-Pierre Verselin, Maxime Lauté et Clément Rameaux) n’a pas réalisé la passe de trois. Le club du Val-de-Marne a été détrôné par Lyon et ce malgré le 64 de Lionel Weber et le 68 de Clément Bérardo aujourd’hui qui n’ont pas permis au tenant du titre de le conserver, échouant à deux coups (545 contre 543 à Lyon).
Emmenée par un Adrien Saddier exceptionnel tout au long de la compétition qu’il a bouclée à – 18 et Gary Stal (- 15), sans oublier Nelson Desmoulins et Arnaud Pierre Malinvaud, l’équipe lyonnaise a remporté son premier grand titre (après une troisième place en 2010) et disputera la coupe d’Europe en octobre (du 20 au 22) en Turquie. Gary Stal sera présent même après avoir participé aux PQ1 le mois précédent à Bogogno (Italie).
