Timothée Guin et Emie Peronnin à la force du poignet
Grand Prix de Valgarde (du 12 au 14 août)
Vainqueur de la coupe Yves-Caillol en 2010, Timothée Guin était en tête du tournoi à l’issue du premier tour, en mai dernier. Mais il fut contraint à l’abandon à cause d’une tendinite récurrente aux poignets. Après trois semaines de repos, il a repris la compétition au Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud mais sans véritable envie : « J’ai décidé d’arrêter pendant deux mois, indique le joueur d’Ormesson. J’étais sans doute un peu saturé de golf. » Et pour son retour, le Vauclusien a signé une belle victoire à Valgarde avec deux derniers tours sous le par (- 5 et – 4) : « Je ne m’étais fixé aucun objectif. J’étais simplement venu pour retrouver du plaisir sur un parcours et revoir les amis. » A huit coups du meilleur score du premier tour établi par le Lyonnais Thibault Carmignano (64), aux environs de la vingtième place, Timothée Guin s’est replacé dans la course le lendemain grâce à la meilleure carte de la journée (63 avec sept birdies et deux bogeys). Dimanche, il a bouclé la compétition par un 64 (cinq birdies et un bogey) qui lui a permis de devancer d’une longueur Yoann Robin, et de deux Geoffrey Meurice. « Après un mauvais premier tour, j’ai retrouvé de bonnes sensations et des automatismes, explique Timothée Guin. Je vais donc disputer la Ganay, la semaine prochaine à Grenoble, puis le Grand Prix de Massane. »

Depuis la Golfer’s, Emie Peronnin souffre (elle aussi) du poignet droit. Malgré de multiples examens, personne n’a été capable de lui dire la cause de ses douleurs persistantes. Elle joue donc avec un strapping. Et comme pour Timothée Guin, ça ne lui a pas trop mal réussi le week-end dernier puisqu’elle a remporté son premier tournoi de la saison à Valgarde. En tête, à égalité avec Léa Cherel (69) le premier jour, elle n’a pu éviter le retour de l’Aixoise le dimanche à cause d’un second 72 consécutif : « J’étais un peu tendue au départ car j’avais, par le passé, connu des mésaventures sur ce golf, commente la licenciée de Valescure. J’ai commis des erreurs stupides qui m’ont coûté deux doubles. Mon putting n’étant pas performant, je n’ai pas converti toutes mes occasions de birdie. Mais je me suis accrochée puisqu’après un double au 14, j’ai enquillé 5 m pour birdie au 16. Je me suis dit si tu ne rentres pas, la victoire va encore te passer sous le nez. » Se retrouvant à nouveau à égalité après trois tours (213), Peronnin et Cherel ont eu recours au play-off pour se départager : « J’ai mis une bonne ficelle de 4-5 m au 1 pour continuer, précise Emie. Et au 13, j’ai touché le green en deux et j’ai fait birdie. »
Léa Cherel regrettait son deuxième tour au cours duquel elle a concédé six bogeys à l’aller : « C’est là que j’ai perdu le tournoi », reconnaît l’Aixoise, victorieuse à Gap-Bayard.
