Comme il le pressentait hier, Jules Bordonado (St-Nom-la-Bretèche) a souffert sur le Old Course de Walton Heath « qui ne laisse aucun répit et ne pardonne rien ». Il a signé une carte de 76 avec, malheureusement, une fin de parcours difficile sur laquelle il a abandonné quatre points sur les cinq derniers trous. « Je suis content d’en avoir fini avec le Old Course, indique l’ancien joueur d’Aix-Marseille. Le moindre drive égaré est sanctionné, au minimum, par un bogey. En jouant demain sur le New Course, j’espère encore passer le cut qui est autour de + 1, + 2.«
Adrien Monnier (Cergy) a, lui aussi, éprouvé pas mal de difficultés sur le Old Course. Il n’a pas pu mieux faire que 79 (+ 7).
Le meilleur score du petit clan français a été réalisé par Mathieu Cadoret (et pas Mathieu Fenasse comme indiqué sur la liste des départs ce matin encore). Le joueur de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche a débuté le tournoi sur le New Course et a bouclé son premier tour dans le par (72).
